Homegrown Chestnut Mushrooms

unnamed (14)

Homegrown Chestnut Mushrooms

Every year (since I started growing mushrooms), I have tried growing a new variety.  This year that new variety is called:  "Chestnut".  Actually, I just harvested them today so I haven't eaten them yet - I will have to reveal what I thought of them in a future post.

You will see that I took way too many pictures of this type of mushroom but they were just so cute.  I show the very beginning when the mushrooms just started "pinning" and then I took you all they way through to harvest.

Previously featured homegrown mushroom varieties:
Snow Oyster
Pink Oyster
Morel (wild, grown outside)
Golden Oyster
Lion's Mane
Italian Oyster
Blue Oyster
Black King Oyster
Wine Cap (grown outside)
Shiitake
