Help for the Caregiver - NEVER GIVE UP!
The holidays can be very stressful for many people, especially those who are 24/7 family caregivers. Five years ago I did a series called: "Who Takes Care of the Caregiver?". Well, this is a compilation of those posts.
We learned how to deal with four difficult situations
Dealing with:
- Frustration
- Fear
- Exhaustion
- Unfairness
(Below, I summarized and highlighted each post but please click on each title to view each post in it's entirety)
You will be able to find encouragement through prayer and meditation on God's Word!
Love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and you will notice that fear will cease to control you. You will still experience hardships, but draw on God's strength and you will be able to endure whatever comes your way.
"Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and His understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."
Isaiah 40:28-31
Remember that physical, emotional and mental exhaustion is eliminated by becoming renewed and refreshed in God - through His Word, through prayer and by the Holy Spirit!
I know that it is difficult to ignore the unfair treatment by family and friends but try to continue doing good. Tell them to "mock on" and just brush it aside!''
NEVER GIVE UP! By caring for your loved ones you have been given the greatest gift of all - precious time with that loved one.
