"Ouaouaron" on Okra

"Ouaouaron" on Okra

About a month ago I was harvesting some of my okra (which was plentiful this year) and I noticed something that didn't look quite normal.  It was a cute little frog just hanging out relaxing on one of the large okra leaves.  Some of my okra plants reached six feet tall this year but he found one about four feet high.
(see picture below - can you find him?  He's in the middle)

When I looked at him, the word "Ouaouaron" popped into my head.  I remember learning that word in high school French class (remember, I went to high school in Canada so our level of French is much higher that American high school French class.  I'm not bragging - just saying).  Anyway, in senior year we learned different dialects of French and in some cases totally different French words used in different dialects.  Ouaouaron is a cajun/Louisiana french word.  I was taught that it meant "frog" (I just found out that it actually means "bullfrog" but I was taught that it referred to any frog species).  It makes sense that it would mean bullfrog because the pronunciation of Ouaouaron simulates the sound that they make.

Also, okra reminds me of Louisiana because of Gumbo (a stew made with okra).

This is a roundabout way of getting to the focus of this post but all of this thinking about Louisiana reminded me of hurricane Katrina.  I never thought there would ever be a hurricane that would make that one pale in comparison.

Of course you know that I'm talking about hurricane Helene.

I'm sharing this video below because mainstream media is NOT telling us the truth.  This video shares first hand accounts from people who live in the affected areas.
