INDIAN BLANKET Sunflower Variety
September is SUNFLOWER Season here in God's Growing Garden. I originally had four different varieties planned for this year but due to the critter attack that occurred, I will only be able to share three varieties (click HERE to view "Garden Destroying Critters" to see what happened). In this second sunflower post of 2024 I feature the lone survivor of this variety. Today I am featuring: INDIAN BLANKET Sunflower variety in the Sunflower Series of 2024.
I thought that this variety would be different than solid yellow so I researched the variety online. While yellow is a possible color, this variety is actually a mixture of colors. Therefore, I will have to do a "regrow" series next year to regrow these varieties that were almost annihilated by the critters.
Before showing the featured pictures, I wanted to remind you why sunflowers are my favorite flower. Sunflowers always turn towards the sun - you can literally see them gently turning throughout the day to follow the sun. To be very clear - I am NOT a "sun" worshiper. However, I am a "Son" worshiper: Jesus Christ The Son of God and I strive every day to grow and turn towards Him in every aspect of my life.

This variety is even beautiful when a large bite was taken out (see next 3 pictures below). I like to think of it as having a handicap - still thriving and beautiful even with a hardship.
