ICE CREAM Sunflower Variety
This is the first sunflower posting of 2024. September is SUNFLOWER Season here in God's Growing Garden. I originally had four different varieties planned for this year but due to the critter attack that my garden had this year I will only be able to share three varieties (click HERE to view "Garden Destroying Critters" to see what happened). Today I am featuring: ICE CREAM Sunflower variety which is the first post of the Sunflower Series of 2024.
Since this variety is called "Ice Cream" I thought it would be perfect to share a compilation of some of my ice cream recipes:

Before showing the featured pictures, I wanted to remind you why sunflowers are my favorite flower. Sunflowers always turn towards the sun - you can literally see them gently turning throughout the day to follow the sun. To be very clear - I am NOT a "sun" worshiper. However, I am a "Son" worshiper: Jesus Christ The Son of God and I strive every day to grow and turn towards Him in every aspect of my life.
ENJOY the following pictures!
All photos were taken by me (Angie Ouellette-Tower) and the sunflowers were all grown in my garden.

Sometimes this variety has a dark middle and others have a lighter creamy center like the picture above.

When the buds first open they are yellow but then they turn creamy colored when fully opened (see below):
