HOPI BLACK DYE Sunflower Variety

This is the final sunflower posting of 2023.  Usually September is SUNFLOWER Season here in God's Growing Garden.  However, the last two posts of my sunflower postings are delayed due to the fact that my mom was called home to Jesus in mid October.  Today I am featuring: HOPI BLACK DYE Sunflower variety which is the fourth and final of the Sunflower Series of 2023.

This variety was bought from:

(click the title to purchase this amazing seed packet)

Before showing the featured pictures, I wanted to remind you why sunflowers are my favorite flower.  Sunflowers always turn towards the sun - you can literally see them gently turning throughout the day to follow the sun.  To be very clear - I am NOT a "sun" worshiper.  However, I am a "Son" worshiper:  Jesus Christ The Son of God and I strive every day to grow and turn towards Him in every aspect of my life.

ENJOY the following pictures!

All photos were taken by me (Angie Ouellette-Tower) and the sunflowers were all grown in my garden.

This is a very interesting variety.  The Hopi tribe are Native Americans primarily from the southwestern area of the United States.  They used this beautiful sunflower to dye fabric and basketry.  The seeds are also great for eating!
