Saving Seeds - RHUBARB
Saving rhubarb seeds is a once in a decade thing because you will have enough seeds to last many years!

I grew up with rhubarb and I really enjoy the flavor. Rhubarb is technically a vegetable but I have only ever had it in a sweet dish.
In the picture below you will notice a spherical green thing in the middle - that is the bud which will eventually reveal the seeds. You will see a closer view in the second picture below.
That middle part will grow into a tall stalk with sequin looking seeds (you will see what I mean in the second picture below)
Once you remove the seed stalk you will notice better and more abundant rhubarb growth. Previously, the plant was using all it's energy to create the seeds. After the stalk is removed, the plant's energy focuses on growing rhubarb.
ENJOY!

I learned a lot from this post. I've never actually tried rhubarb. I have a neighbor that makes rhubarb pie. Your recipe for strawberry rhubarb pie sounds amazing. I am sure it is delicious too! Thank you for sharing.
