Homegrown Wine Cap Mushroom
Last week when I wrote a post about my newest mushroom variety (Black King Mushroom - click HERE to view), I realized that I never featured the "Wine Cap" variety.
This variety is grown outside in a bed of straw and leaves. 2023 will be my third year growing this delicious variety. Some growers are able to get two harvests in one year but I have only had one harvest per year and always in the Spring.

WINE CAP MUSHROOMS
This variety is one of my favorites - it kind of has a nutty flavor. It is a large mushroom and a joy to cook with - click HERE to view "Wine Cap Mushroom Devonshire Pie".
