Fall is here and it’s getting a little bit chilly in some areas, if you need to warm up on a nice fall day with a delicious beverage, try this Apple Pie a la Mode Hot Chocolate. It’s delicious and I’m sure it would even be great for a fall family dinner party!

I love to dream up ideas of crafts and things to make that I can actually use around my house… I’ve been wanting a Silhouette Cutting Machine for a long time now and finally, got one. While the machine does take some getting used to (I suggest watching some videos and joining groups on Facebook) you can make some pretty neat items.

There’s nothing that smells better this time of year than a home filled with the smell of apples and cinnamon and nothing tastes better than coming in from the cold to a freshly made apple cider waiting for you.  In less than half a day you can also enjoy your own delicious cup of homemade apple cider.  Although this recipe calls for a slow cooker, don’t worry if you don’t have one!  This recipe can also be made in a large pot on the stove.

Fall is the perfect time for crafting! It’s not too hot and not too cold, so you can just sit and enjoy making something cute without worrying about the weather! A great way to relax with crafting during the fall is to make a fall button craft!

Now that summer is over, kick off the autumn baking season with these vintage Date Walnut Macaroon Cookies. I found this recipe in one of the cookbooks in my vintage collection of  how to books. This classic cookie is made without flour. It’s filled with sweet coconut, chopped dates, and walnut pieces and held together with sweetened condensed milk. The milk also gives the cookie a chewy texture.

I have been wanting to make a set of black display pedestals and I thought they would be perfect for Halloween decor.

What to do with an old twin bed headboard? Why, turn it into a blog inspiration board, of course. I’ve seen some headboards turned into different things and I wanted to see what I could do with an old headboard also.  I had an old bed headboard so I spray painted it and then went to town decorating it.

I found this Pumpkin Pecan Bundt Cake with Spiced Caramel Icing recipe in one of my vintage cookbooks. It is one of those cake recipes that start with a cake mix and includes a box of pudding mix. This is the first time I made a cake recipe this way.

This Borden's Milk Can is a nice flea market find.
A little banged up and rusty, but still a great subject for a makeover. It gives off some country charm.

We are loving the football season this year! The kids have decided that we will be making at least one new tailgating recipe each week as the season continues. As a busy mom I have been leaning towards easy recipes that require the least amount of work possible. The kids have come to realize how easy the crock pot is for me to use and the food is always amazing! This week we whipped up these Coca Cola Pulled Pork BBQ Sliders!

This vampire makeup look was inspired by The Vampire Diaries or, more specifically, Elena as a vampire. I love the way that they show the blood veins under their eyes when they’re struck with blood thirst; I just think it’s such a cool interpretation that kind of sets their makeup and special FX style for the show apart from others.

My cousin is having a baby girl, due around Christmas time and since I'm pretty sure she'll receive a ton of baby gifts, I wanted to give her something handmade. First I thought about crocheting a blanket, but then I decided I needed something easier. Browsing around my stash, I found a piece of soft minky fabric. I vaguely remember my mother giving it to me when I was pregnant with my daughter but I never made anything with it. It came with a roughly crocheted border and it was the perfect size for a blanket, but it ended up living in a closet for five years.

When most people think of favorite fall foods – something made with pumpkin probably comes to mind.  Not me though – I am all about the caramel apples!  This caramel apple turnovers recipe was born after I recently bought puff pastry on accident.  I was trying to figure out a recipe to make with it so it didn’t go to waste.  Then it came to me…  Why not convert my favorite caramel apple pie recipe into caramel apple turnovers?  I adore the combination of caramel and apples. What’s not to love? Apples… Yum!  Caramels… Yum!  Put them together and they are absolutely amazing!
