2013 - Historical Grape Year

I'm predicting the future - I believe that 2013 will go down in history for being one of the best grape years ever.  Wine enthusiasts will spend fortunes on wine made from the 2013 grape harvest.

Of course I'm being a little silly - I can't predict the future but what I can tell you is that the grape juice that I made from this year's grape harvest has the best grape flavor that I have ever tasted in my life!

As a young child I used to watch my parents make grape juice with their "Steam Juicer" - that smell of fresh grape juice and watching the rich and glorious reddish purple liquid drip from the juicer hose into a large pot - absolutely  mouth watering!  Now, I make grape juice using a method that my mother-in-law has used for decades.  I simply place some washed grapes in a sterilized mason jar, add sugar & boiling water & process - I share my views on why this is better for us & the instructions on how to make grape juice yourself in this post:

Later on this month (or maybe even the end of this week) I will also share my Grape Jelly recipe & other Grape Ideas.

ENJOY!!

  1. Oh, I love all things grape!!! I can't wait until our vines are mature enough to produce. Your grape juice sounds so simple. Thanks for sharing with us at The HomeAcre Hop!
