Marvelling Creeping Myrtle
Myrtle is one of those flowers that you forget about until it is in bloom. It is such a delicate looking flower in a beautiful periwinkle blue - don't let that delicate look fool you - this is a hardy flower.

Myrtle does not have a scent but I just love how it literally creeps along the ground finding new pathways and expanding it's territory each year.

I started my Myrtle patch with 1 little Myrtle plucking like the little sprig seen on the step in the picture below. The roots are short but sturdy.

Myrtle prefers partial shade and moist soil - as you can see I mulch the area where my Myrtle grows & it seems to thrive in that type of an environment.
ENJOY!!

Hi Angie:
ReplyDeleteHow have you been doing? See you're still posting images of pretty blooms. I don't see many blue/lavender flowers. I'd like to have a garden of nothing but blue flowers. Would feel very cook to sit in during Summer.
Have a nice day,
Sandi

Those flowers are gorgeous! I love that shade of blue. I'm so happy it's spring again and the flowers are coming back -I can't get enough after that long, harsh winter.
