Today's Flower Feature is "Monet's Watercolor Rose".
This is another one of my favorite roses. In certain lights - the petals resemble paper that has been painted with watercolors - a gentle gradation in color. If you've ever painted with watercolors before then you'll know what I'm talking about - when you place a paintbrush with a dab of watercolor paint onto a moist piece of watercolor paper - then the magic happens!! That wonderful growth of color as it spreads onto the moist parts of the paper! That's what each petal looks like to me - a Monet masterpiece in each petal!
