Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5 & 6
I have many favorite Bible verses - almost an endless list really. I decided to share these bits of God's Word with you once a month on what I am calling "Favorite Scripture Sunday." I will talk a little bit about that verse (verses) and I would love it if you would leave comments on how that verse has impacted your life & what you believe that God is telling you through that featured selection.
"Trust in the Lord" - even when you feel that there is no hope (or especially when you feel that there is no hope). To depend on the Lord.
"All your heart" - that means every area of your life - no matter how small or large! Nothing is too insignificant to God and also nothing is too immeasurable for our Lord.
"Acknowledge Him" - to admit that God's way is the only way - to accept, concede or own up to. Isn't that a modern conundrum - we all seem to cling to "being right" - that's not Acknowledging God.
"Straight paths" - that means that trusting our Lord is good for you - good for us. We are safe in His care. Now that doesn't mean that we are free from hardships - No - but it does mean that God will guide us through and even carry us through.
How have these verses impacted your life?

This was one of the very first verses I ever memorized... The Lord has brought it to my heart throughout the days, weeks, months and years of my walk... and always with an inflection on a certain part of the verse depending on what I was doing, praying for, etc... He does this constantly with so many other scriptures as well. He most certainly and assuredly uses His own 'Word of God' to teach, correct, uplift , comfort and encourage His people! Praise Him!!
ReplyDeleteI agree - it's amazing how we can all get a different message from the same verse! - God is so cool!

This is one of my favorite versus. It is one of the most difficult things to practice at times though. I know for me I always have to analyze and evaluate everything, while I do always ask for guidance I sadly do not only solely rely on the Lord.
