Floristan Sunflowers
This sunflower variety was a delicacy to the bugs. As you can see in all of the pictures below - many of the petals have been chowed and chopped - I was never actually able to see what kind of bug devoured these sunflowers only the evidence that they had been there. The middle part of this sunflower reminds me of fireworks - I should have renamed this sunflower the "Fourth of July" or "Freedom" Sunflower.
ENJOY the following pictures!
All photos were taken by me (Angie Ouellette-Tower) and the sunflowers were all grown in my garden (2012 Sunflower seeds were from Pinetree Garden Seeds).

Even with a bug bite or two it is still a lovely flower. I like the names you've chosen for it, either one would suit it well.
ReplyDeleteI really like the color of the sunflowers. Sunflowers are such happy flowers. I love to see whole big fields of them. Just like sunshine.
ReplyDeletefollowing back!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would see so much detail on a flower if I were looking at it up close,in person. Your photos show so much detail!

Even though they've been chewed on a bit, they are still absolutely lovely! Great photos!!
ReplyDeleteThe dark, rich colors are beautiful. It's like a maroon + cinnabar. Have a great Saturday, Angie.
