Rainbow Swiss Chard
This is my first year growing "Rainbow Swiss Chard" and I am amazed at the aray of colors: vibrant yellow, fushia pink, burgundy red, deep orange and creamy white. Even the leaf veins have these energetic colors. I have grown regular green Swiss Chard in the past and I am happy to discover that the "Rainbow" variety is just as tasty as the traditional green chard.
Even though Swiss Chard grows well in cooler climates - it can still withstand hot dry weather - making it easier to grow than spinach. It is also great for the autumn - when all other lettuce greens have died off you will still be enjoying Swiss Chard even after a few mild frosts.
